Special Photo Exhibition on 71st Anniversary of Korean War by KCCI
On 25th June 2021, Korean
Cultural Center India(KCCI) held a Virtual Exhibition titled 'Korean
War Special Exhibition <60 Para Field Ambulance>', commemorating
India's role in the Korean War 1950-1953.
The Korean War was fought between 25th June
1950~27th July 1953 until the Armistice agreement was signed between two
countries. It was considered as one of the deadliest conflicts of the 20th century which had shaken the country to its core.
India played a unique role in maintaining a neutral
position throughout the Korean War. India also got its independence a few
years ago but this doesn't stop them from sending medical aid to the Korean
Peninsula was going through a humanitarian crisis.
Under the United Nations command, India deployed a medical unit of the Indian Army named " 60th Parachute Field Ambulance Platoon" in Busan in November 1950. The total unit comprised of 627 medical aid workers including 4 combat surgeons, 2 anaesthesiologists and 1 dentist.

Also, Commanding Officer

Moreover, a 500 won stamp was
issued in 1951 by the Korean government to honour India's participation in the
Korean War.
